Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG)

Insurance Backed Guarantee

As of June 2014 the provision of financial protection became mandatory as part of the self assessment certification procedures required for all residential replacement window installations

At Centric H.I. we ensure every customer has an insurance backed guarantee up front.

What is an Insurance Backed Guarantee?

It is insurance that protects you should a home improvement contractor cease to trade, as defined in the policy, and is therefore unable to either complete the work or honour the terms of the guarantee given to you on the completed project. There are several trade types covered by Insurance Backed Guarantees, the most well know are Glazing installers, however roofing, solar and kitchen and bathroom installers are also able to provide an IBG.

Here at Centric Home Improvements, we issue a guarantee for every job we carry out.

Although home improvements are still one of the safest forms of financial investment, there is one pitfall that is often overlooked – A REDUNDANT GUARANTEE.

Benefits of an insurance backed guaranteed

Sets the contractors apart from competitors that cannot offer such a guarantee and demonstrates the quality of, and confidence in, the contractors’ product and workmanship

Demonstrates the fact that the contractor has satisfied insurers as to the quality of their work

Provides vital protection and security for you, the building homeowner

What does it cover?

Workmanship by your contractor for a period of up to 10 years

Materials used by your contractor for the period of the manufacturer’s guarantee to a maximum of 10 years

Recovery of deposit payments up to 25% of contract value.

Insurance Backed Guarantees protect the investment you have made to your home

Frequently Asked Questions

If I have an issue with my install should I come straight through to QANW or the Insurance backed guarantee provider for support?

No, the company has this in place for your protection in case the company should cease trading, in the first instance the customer should contact the installation company directly and they will look for a solution to any situation.

My Deposit is covered by the IBG, how long is this for?

QANW provide cover for up to 120 days and is intended to put the customer back in the same financial position as they were in prior to any failure

At what stage is my IBG registered once I agree to the sale?

If a deposit is taken then the company will register the sale straight away with QANW to inform of the deposit and once the project is complete the company will update the existing record. If no deposit is taken the registration is after the job has completed.
