Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG)
Insurance Backed Guarantee
As of June 2014 the provision of financial protection became mandatory as part of the self assessment certification procedures required for all residential replacement window installations.
At Centric H.I. we ensure every customer has an insurance backed guarantee up front.
This insurance-backed guarantee offers you added security, ensuring that your investment is protected even in the unlikely event that the installer ceases to trade. It provides peace of mind, knowing that your replacement windows are covered, and any potential issues can be addressed without additional financial burden on your part.
Furthermore, our commitment to offering this guarantee reflects our dedication to customer satisfaction and quality service. At Centric Home Improvements, we understand the importance of long-term protection for your home improvements, and this guarantee is just one of the many ways we ensure our customers receive the best possible experience.
What is an Insurance Backed Guarantee?
It is insurance that protects you should a home improvement contractor cease to trade, as defined in the policy, and is therefore unable to either complete the work or honour the terms of the guarantee given to you on the completed project. There are several trade types covered by Insurance Backed Guarantees, the most well know are Glazing installers, however roofing, solar and kitchen and bathroom installers are also able to provide an IBG.
Here at Centric Home Improvements, we issue a guarantee for every job we carry out.
Although home improvements are still one of the safest forms of financial investment, there is one pitfall that is often overlooked – A REDUNDANT GUARANTEE.
This is where an Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) becomes invaluable. By ensuring that your investment is protected even if the contractor ceases trading, an IBG offers you peace of mind and financial security. Whether you’re investing in glazing, roofing, solar installations, or kitchen and bathroom renovations, an IBG ensures that your project is safeguarded, providing a safety net that extends beyond the lifespan of the contractor.
At Centric Home Improvements, we believe in going the extra mile to protect our customers’ investments. By offering an IBG with every job we complete, we ensure that our clients are fully covered, no matter the circumstances. This commitment to comprehensive protection underscores our dedication to delivering not only quality work but also lasting assurance that our customers can rely on.
Benefits of an insurance backed guaranteed
- Sets the contractors apart from competitors that cannot offer such a guarantee and demonstrates the quality of, and confidence in, the contractors’ product and workmanship. This distinction not only enhances the contractor’s reputation but also assures customers of a higher standard of service.
- Demonstrates the fact that the contractor has satisfied insurers as to the quality of their work. This approval from insurers serves as a testament to the contractor’s reliability and commitment to excellence.
- Provides vital protection and security for you, the building homeowner. This assurance means you can proceed with your home improvements with full confidence in your financial protection.
What does it cover?
-
Workmanship by your contractor for a period of up to 10 years.
This coverage ensures that any issues related to the quality of work will be addressed, giving you confidence in the long-term durability of the installation. -
Materials used by your contractor for the period of the manufacturer’s guarantee to a maximum of 10 years.
You can rest assured that the materials used are covered, ensuring that any defects will be resolved without additional costs to you. -
Insurance Backed Guarantees protect the investment you have made to your home.
This guarantee acts as a safety net, ensuring that your home improvement investment remains secure regardless of unforeseen circumstances.
If I have an issue with my install should I come straight through to QANW or the Insurance backed guarantee provider for support?
No, the company has this in place for your protection in case the company should cease trading, in the first instance the customer should contact the installation company directly and they will look for a solution to any situation.
My Deposit is covered by the IBG, how long is this for?
QANW provide cover for up to 120 days and is intended to put the customer back in the same financial position as they were in prior to any failure
At what stage is my IBG registered once I agree to the sale?
If a deposit is taken then the company will register the sale straight away with QANW to inform of the deposit and once the project is complete the company will update the existing record. If no deposit is taken the registration is after the job has completed.
