Information
Composite doors are the newest type of door used in homes. Using a combination of materials which have been selected for their beneficial properties, composite doors allow for the old flaws to be effectively ‘designed out’. Composite back and front doors have a high resistance to weathering and will not react to seasonal changes like a singular material door. Composite doors have a higher thermal resistance than wooden doors, due to the insulating foam core. A composite door is designed to appear as a wooden door, with an attractive wood grain, but thanks to the materials used, it won’t fade, discolour or require any maintenance beyond wiping with a damp cloth if it gets dirty. In short, composite doors are exceptionally well-designed modern doors made from several materials. Their superior quality sets a new high standard within the door industry.
Composite doors are two times thicker than uPVC doors and comprise of a polyurethane core which becomes rock hard.
uPVC doors have a Styrofoam core which is less solid. Composite doors are the more sturdy and safe option for your home. uPVC doors are more vulnerable and easy to get past.
uPVC doors are extremely secure, but composite doors offer the higher level of security. The super-strong structural frame combined with glass-reinforced plastic, provide infallible protection against intruders. Plus, the addition of laminated glass will not fall out of the door if broken. It will shatter but stay in place.
uPVC doors can have some variety (we offer uPVC doors in a variety of colours), but with composite doors there are far more options available. You can also decide between a range of stunning glass options.
